  : Observe due care when working near a hot exhaust system.

  : Do not work on or under a vehicle supported only by a jack. Always support the vehicle on safety stands.

Raise and support the vehicle.

. Disconnect the diesel particulate filter (DPF), differential pressure sensor electrical connector.



. Release the DPF differential pressure sensor.
  Release the clip.




. Disconnect the DPF exhaust gas temperature sensor electrical connector.

  : Make sure that the exhaust system is supported with a suitable stand.

Release the 6 exhaust hangers.



. Remove the DPF rear heat shield.
  Remove the 4 bolts.




. :
  Discard the gasket.

Reposition the muffler and tailpipe assembly.
  Remove the 3 nuts.
  Remove the bracket.




. Remove the DPF front heat shield.
  Remove the 3 bolts.




. Remove the DPF.
  Remove the nut.




. :
  Do not disassemble further if the component is removed for access only.

Remove the DPF exhaust gas temperature sensor.
  Release the wiring harness from the 2 clips.




. Install the DPF exhaust gas temperature sensor.
  Tighten to 35 Nm (26 lb.ft).
  Secure the wiring harness in the clips.

. :
  Do not fully tighten the clamp at this stage.

Install the DPF.

. :
  Install a new gasket.

Secure the muffler and tailpipe assembly.
  Install the bracket.
  Tighten the nuts to 48 Nm (35 lb.ft).
  Secure the exhaust hangers.

. Tighten the catalytic converter to DPF clamp.
  Tighten the nut to 48 Nm (35 lb.ft).

. Install the DPF heat shields.
  Tighten the bolts to 10 Nm (7 lb.ft).

. Secure the DPF differential pressure sensor.

. Connect the DPF differential pressure sensor electrical connector.

. Connect the DPF exhaust gas temperature sensor electrical connector.
